Little Bowden BC proved to be a brilliant host club for the Coaching/Taster Sessions held on 4th June.
Players from across the region and from almost all of the disability groups came along to enjoy a day of bowls and socialising. There were players with physical disability, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, deaf, Parkinson’s disease & learning difficulties – a great representation of what Disability Bowls England is all about.
6 people came along to try bowls for the first time including a person profoundly deaf and another totally blind, both of whom enjoyed the experience and now looking to join a club in their area.
Club members, along with coaches, helpers, carers and families were impressed by the standard of play and gave all the players a lot of encouragement.
Well done to the club, coaches, helpers and most importantly the players – what a great day.
It was a great day and I can report that my daughter Sabrina wheelchair user and my mum have both joined Desborough Bowls club.
