DBE Maiden Singles – 2017

DBE Maiden Singles 2017 Report

Sixteen bowlers from across the country gathered at Gedling IBC for the inaugural DBE Maiden Singles Knockout Competition.  The competition was run over 70 minute match or first to 21.  Every bowler was guaranteed a minimum of tow matches with first round losers being entered into a Plate competition.

First round matches:  Chris Price 15 v Colin Wagstaff 11;  Lynn Bourne 18 v Craig Murrey 7;  Tim Swann 21 v Barry Nicholson 12;  Brian King 14 v Keith Haggerwood 9;  Adam Summerscales 18 v Andrew Bayton 3;  Ray Kirk 21 v Mike Robbins 16;  Mick Bourne 9 v Steven Nicholson 21;  John Rogers 13 v Danny Lockhart 12 (after extra end).

Plate quarter final:  Colin Wagstaff 21 v Craig Murrey 7;  Barry Nicholson 13 v Keith Haggerwood 11;  Andrew Bayton 13 v Mike Robbins 16;  Mick Bourne 13 v Danny Lockhart 8

Semi Final:  Colin Wagstaff 17 v Barry Nicholson 15;  Mike Robins 19 v Mick Bourne 9

Final:  Colin Wagstaff  21 v Mike Robbins 10

  1. What a great day , my best bowling so far . A big thank you to all at D.B.E and geding indoor bowls club . So much hard work from the volunteers and met some more new friends . many thanks everyone
