Coaching Information

Disability Bowls England (DBE) provide opportunities and coaching for players, helpers & volunteers to learn more about and enjoy the sport of bowls.

TASTER DAYS:
DBE can help clubs arrange a “Taster Day” to include:

  • a basic introduction into disability bowls for people, helpers, volunteers, coaches, and neighbouring clubs.
  • meeting DBE players & members.
  • coaching for players with disability from beginner to high performers.
  • “Working with Disabled People in Bowls” Coaching Module (in conjunction with Coach Bowls)
  • opportunity to look at and try a variety of disability bowling aids.

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT & COACHING DAYS:
DBE organise a number of “Development Days” throughout the year in England to provide:

  • training and upskilling for helpers & volunteers.
  • coaching for players of all ability.
  • player information:- physical & technical including fitness, diet, practice drills, player pathway.
  • club assistance and possible match involving club members and players with disability

CLUB COACHING:
DBE encourage clubs to sign up volunteers and coaches on the Coach Bowls “Working with Disabled People in Bowls” module. The course is an informative and relaxed module designed to help coaches and volunteers feel confident to provide opportunities & help for people with disability to take up the sport.

COACH BOWLS:
Coach Bowls provide training and support to the coach and volunteer work force at bowls clubs. Through Coach Bowls courses people can obtain a nationally recognised coaching qualification. Coach Bowls Membership provides insurance, workshops and modules including:
