Proposed Representative DBE Team England for IBD World Championships

Sue Davies (DBE Performance & Team Manager) is pleased to announce our proposed REPRESENTATIVE DBE Team England for the International Bowls for the Disabled World Championships 18-31 May 2024 in South Africa.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. We have announced our Team early so fund raising can take place.
  2. This event is totally self funded at the moment.
  3. We are still waiting for final Confirmation of number of counties and which classification are attending.
  4. A minimum of four entries for any classification competition is required. If less than four entries are received that classification competition will not take place.

Once we have received more information and answers to all our questions, WE WILL THEN FINALLY DECIDE BEFORE THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER 2023 IF DBE TEAM ENGLAND WILL BE ATTENDING THIS EVENT

IBD world championships 2024 – FINAL confirmation

IBD world championships 2024

We have had FINAL confirmation that the IBD world championships 2024 will go ahead as planned at EKURHULENI, SOUTH AFRICA 2024 Between 18 & 31 May 2024

DBE intend to send a competitive team to these World Championships and will depart London Heathrow on the 15 May arrive Johannesburg 16 May return depart Johannesburg 1st June arrive London Heathrow 2 June.

At the moment we have been informed 12 para countries have registered there intention to travel to the world championships.

The revised estimated cost of this package is between £2200 and £2500 per person self funded

The travel package includes:
International flights and airport taxes with Virgin Atlantic
Return airport/hotel transfers
16 nights hotel accommodation twin share on dinner B&B
Return Transfers to bowls venues
2 practice days before championships
Entry into the classification singles and pairs championships (subject to number of entries per classification)
IBD world championships entry fee
