Bowls Bodies Commit to Supporting and Developing Inclusion

We are proud of the inclusive nature of the sport of bowls.

 

The Love Fisher Brown Award is organised annually to highlight good practice in the provision of disabled participation across our sport by clubs, coaches and individual members.

Ellen Falkner MBE

England’s three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Ellen Falkner has been awarded the MBE for services to the sport of Lawn Bowls in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

One of the most decorated lawn bowls players of her generation, Ellen won Gold on her Games debut at Manchester in 2002, and went on to top the podium at Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014.

She also claimed a Bronze Medal at the Games in 2018, and was recently named in the England performance squad for Birmingham 2022.

In addition to her Commonwealth successes she has amassed six World titles and six British Isles Championship titles together with a total of 14 national titles, representing her home county of Cambridgeshire, and 33 county titles.

New Competitions Secretary

The Board of Trustees of the DBE charity Trust would like to announce that Stuart Espie from Leighton Buzzard BC has joined the Committee as the new Competitions Secretary for both Indoor & Outdoor Events and will enhance the strong management team as we re-build the DBE for the “New Normal” and grow our competition events for All levels of our membership.

Two more players representatives announced

The board of trustees of the DBE charity Trust would like to announce that Daniel Adams has joined the committee as the Learning Disability (LD’s) Player Liaison Representative and will enhance the new strong management team as we re-build the DBE for the “New Normal”.

 

DBE Trustee David Stott will be the link between the Members representative and the DBE board..
